The Northern Illinois Business and Industry Data Center was established in 1994 in cooperation with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs to serve businesses and individuals in the 24-county Northern Illinois region including the Chicago, Kankakee, Rockford, and Quad Cities metro areas. It is designed to meet the growing need by decision makers for current and historical demographic and economic statistics.

This website was developed and is managed by Brian Harger, Research Associate, at the NIU Center for Governmental Studies. Updates are made on a daily or weekly basis as new information becomes available.
